Standing Tall Tuesday-Looking Up!

There’s one thing that you and I can do today that will help us stand taller, have better posture and make us feel more confident and empowered. 💪

Let’s do an easy little exercise together. You will need a chair and a small area to walk around.

Let’s start out seated in your chair. Go ahead and look to the ground at your feet. Slowly, start to get up and walk around. Make sure as you are walking to continue to focus only on your feet and the ground just ahead of you. What are you noticing? How are you feeling?

Now, sit back down! (Please)

Next, we are going to look up, perhaps toward the top corner of the room. Begin to slowly get up from here and keep looking up. What do you notice this time?

A lot of times when we do this exercise and we look down, things begin to feel kinda small. As we walk around, our mind can start to go in a negative direction. We might notice our shoulders starting to slump forward and may feel the need to sigh. This can cause us to frown and even possibly start to feel a little defeated.

On the other hand, when we do this exercise and we begin to look up, there is almost the sensation of having a new idea. 🤔 We immediately start to feel more hopeful and expansive. We might even start to feel a smile coming on. It feels more positive and uplifting; more powerful! We are standing taller!

Remember this quick and easy hack in your daily life. Try to catch yourself when you’re looking down and try to make “Looking Up,” both figuratively and literally, a regular habit…..because you are worth it! 💜
